Dr. Adriane Johnson-Williams

People are complex. Powerful work begins when organizations stop pretending otherwise.

Adriane knows that human beings are at the heart of all our organizational endeavors. Regardless of sector or size, we have not yet eliminated the need for humans. As a coach, program designer, facilitator, educator, and philanthropic program officer, she has always considered the people who will be impacted by the work.

This drive led Adriane to found Standpoint Consulting, a firm dedicated to helping leaders who are ready to do the work to make the commitment to race equity while centering organizational results.

She is committed to fighting structural inequality regardless of whom it impacts. Yet, she is focused primarily on race equity.

I am all these things. They are fundamental to my identity, and yet they don’t quite describe who I am. They, and many other characteristics, inform how I interpret the world, define problems, and construct solutions.

And therein lies the lesson.

People are complex. We bring all of that complexity with us into every room we enter. When we combine all the things we carry and apply them, powerful things happen.

Our operating values

What guides our work.

Equity

We make power and patterns visible, then change the conditions producing inequitable results.

Humanity

We hold people’s complexity without losing sight of the system and the result.

Integrity

We name what we see, keep our commitments, and refuse the comfort of performative work.

Dignity

We design work that respects people’s voice, time, knowledge, and right to shape what affects them.
